At Chelford Farm Supplies, Cheshire, we are delighted to be a stockist of Haygain Hay Steamers and stock the entire range which includes the HG One, HG 600 and HG 2000. No matter how big or small your yard is, the Haygain range will have a Hay Steamer that will suit your needs. The Haygain HG One is ideal for the Horse owner with one horse, while the HG 600 is well suited to those who have 1-3 Horses, and for those feeding 4+ Horses the HG 2000 has got you covered.

Haygain Hay Steamers provide you and your Horse with innumerable benefits and has been scientifically developed to produce optimum quality hay that your Horse will love! The major benefit of steaming your Hay rather than soaking is to remove the dust, bacteria and mould typically found in Hay. Soaking won’t remove any of this, however the Haygain Hay Steamer is the only scientifically proven method that reduces the respirable dust in hay as well as kill the mould, fungal spores and bacteria that can cause respiratory problems in equines.

Did you know that around 88% of Horses suffer from Inflammatory Airway Disease (IAD)? IAD can seriously limit a Horse’s performance and a major source and cause of IAD is the dust found in hay. Feeding your Horse hay that has been steamed in a Haygain Hay Steamer can reduce the risk of your Horse developing IAD by 65%! Handling steamed hay will also effectively reduce the risk of Humans developing dust-related respiratory problems too.

Have you ever thought about how much water is used by soaking hay? On average, filling a container to soak hay will typically use 50 – 250 litres – imagine doing this for multiple haynets every day! These high levels of water consumption will have a negative effect on both your water bill and the environment. After soaking, this water will also be contaminated with bacteria, mould, WSC, proteins and minerals that can leach out of the hay – these all act as environmental pollutants. A Haygain Hay Steamer, on the other hand, will only use approximately 4 ½ litres of water per streaming cycle and won’t produce any environmental pollutants. The Haygain is a positive economic and environmental solution.

The Haygain Hay Steamer doesn’t have to be confined to the stable yard either. For the competitive rider who travels to Horse Show and Events the Haygain HG One and HG 600 will conveniently fit in your Horsebox and are a handy size to move around.

We at Chelford Farm Supplies are excited to be an official stockist of Haygain Hay Steamers in Cheshire and the North West, and in addition to our range of Hay Steamers we also stock a handy range of Haygain Accessories including the Haygain Descaler and Haygain Haynet.
