Jodhpurs & Breeches
Anyone who rides horses regularly or has just taken up riding knows how important it is to find the right clothes and footwear. As well as making sure your boots are comfortable, it is worth taking your time when you invest in a new pair of breeches or jodhpurs.
Often the difference is down to personal preference, with breeches ending at or near the calf so they can be worn with long boots, while jodhpurs end at the ankles and are suitable for long boots or most likely with jodhpur boots.
You need to find a pair which is shaped to fit, so you feel comfortable in the saddle. They come in a range of colours in both ladies and mens sizes, so you may get a darker pair for exercising your horse or when you are grooming, as they won’t look too dirty. A lighter or white pair may be more suitable for when you are in a show or exhibition, for example.
Some will also have stretchy elements in the material, so the jodhpurs or breeches move with you, and you don’t feel restricted or find it difficult to move. This could be very useful if you are jumping, cantering or galloping, for example.
Riders can buy both ladies and mens equestrian clothing to suit different occasions, from everyday riding to a special gymkhana or event. The important thing is to find the right fit for you in a style that makes you feel comfortable.</p>
